The CPAA developed and delivered its first Pilot's Maintenance Training course in November this year. Many owner/pilots are very keen to carry out maintenance on their own aircraft and CASA allows certain maintenance to be carried out by pilots provided that they are trained to carry out the tasks. The CPAA PMT course, designed to train pilots to work on their own aircraft safely and competently, was delivered by Garth Bartlett and Geoff Hirst - LAMEs with over 50 years experience between them.
The course covers both theory and practical aspects of the maintenance and certification requirements, tools and calibration and hands on training for oil and filter changes, oil filter inspection, spark plug cleaning and testing, wheel and tyre maintenance and topping up fluids. The course is limited to 12 participants and will fill up quickly, contact CPAA to make your booking.
