What is the purpose of the CPAA?

The CPAA is an independent organisation which seeks to enhance the pleasure of flying and operating Cessna aircraft in Australia through its support of type specific clubs and associations. Such support will be provided through access to information and technical assistance via the CPA and this website, focussing on Australian owners/pilots/operators. The CPAA instructors also provide assistance to members in relation to specific Australian issues.

The CPAA is committed to pilot training and safety and regularly organises training opportunities for Australian Cessna pilots. The CPAA committee designed and implemented the Cessna 182 Pilot Proficiency Program and the Cessna Single Engine Pilot Proficiency Program. CPAA also delivers Pilot's Maintenance Training courses. CPAA regularly invites presenters from overseas to come to Australia and deliver their training programs for the benefit of Australian Cessna pilots.

How is the CPAA funded?

The CPA will pay the CPAA a token amount for each Australian member. Funds will also be derived from the sale of a limited amount of merchandise and through sponsorships from various Australian organisations.

If you are a member of the Cessna Pilots Association (CPA) in the US:

You have automatically become a member of the CPAA at no extra charge.

If you want to join CPAA in Australia:

You will automatically become a member of CPA at no extra charge.

How do I join CPAA/CPA?

The CPAA/CPA membership fee is US$70.00 per year. Complete a membership application form with your credit card details and forward it to CPAA. CPAA will register you as a member of CPAA and then forward your application form to CPA for processing. Your annual membership fee of US$70.00 (paid directly to CPA in the US) is all you have to pay to be a member of both CPAA and CPA.

If you want to join type specific organisations, such as Cessna 182 Association or 172 Register:

You join the particular organisation and pay the required annual fee. Please note that all type specific organisations are completely independent of the CPAA.
